About

Fine art portraits, children and family portraits, and high school senior photos. Kathy blends classical styling with fresh, fun and natural looks—crafting images that will be cherished for years to come. Natural light studio is located 13 miles west of Bozeman, Montana.

I “developed” a real love for photography early in my life. While participating in a photography class in high school, I was amazed to discover the magic of making prints in the darkroom. I then studied Film & Television at Montana State University, and I continue to stay up-to-date by taking many photography classes and workshops. Today the computer is my darkroom, where I continually learn unlimited creativity and new skills with Photoshop.

I’m an active member of Montana Professional Photographers and Professional Photographers of America where I received my Master and Craftsman degrees.  Through these associations, my prints have received numerous state, regional and national awards, including “Photographer” and “Master Photographer” of the year for several years in Montana. My work has been published in various national photography books and magazines, and it has been displayed at the Disney Epcot Center. But more than anything, preparing and submitting images has allowed me to grow as a photographer, pushing me to try new ideas and techniques that I can then share with my clients.

I feel so blessed by the love and support of my high school sweetheart and husband Carl and our two sons, who are all so creative in their own lives. And now we have four more wonderful additions to our family…a daughter-in-law and three little grandchildren! Above all, I thank God for my photography adventure and for how it has led me to meet so many of you!

I look forward to creating photographs for you that become more priceless as time passes. The years go so fast…these are the details you want to remember forever!

Showing the beauty in my clients and those they love is so fun to do…a baby’s soft skin, a child’s sparkling eyes, innocent glances, silly faces, a senior’s unique personality, and a family’s fun and loving warmth.
